Keep the Conversation Going – Ask a Question

One way to keep the conversation going is to ask a question. You can make a very short question by using an auxiliary (such as do / does / did / have etc, depending on the tense used.) In this example, the second speaker uses “Did you?” to comment on the other speaker’s story.
